'RONDA 710' ARMCHAIR BY TOBIA & AFRA SCARPA
A very rare example of a Ronda 710 chair designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Spanish furniture brand Casas, C. 1970s. Reupholstered in 100% British Wool bouclé this striking chair is true collectors piece. The Ronda chair was originally available with ether fixed feet or casters giving them a variety of suitable uses, they are featured in ‘Architecture for Benetton’ by Antoni Mulas and Marco Mulazzani published in 2004 where they are shown in both a boardroom and conference room setting in Benettons Milan offices (included within the images below). In 1964 Tobia & Afra were charged by Luciano Benetton to design the company’s first factory. This was to be the beginning of a relationship between Benetton and the Scarpas that continued for many years.
