Large Burr Oak Veneer Dining table by Heals c. 1980’s. Made from symmetrical Burr Oak panels with an impressive grain running throughout the design it comfortably sits 6-8 people. The Burr is a tree growth in which the wood grain has grown in a deformed manner usually on the side of the tree trunk or the base of a tree. For furniture pieces the burr/burl is sliced into paper thin sheets and applied as a veneer.
